„And the Grand Prix Matériels goes to.”

Boppard, 17.05.2022: The French organization DLR (Distributeurs Loueurs et Réparateurs) and the construction magazine ‘Chantier de France’ have awarded the best construction machines with the prize ‘Grand Prix Matériels’ for the fourth time. In April, the award went to machines in 6 categories. This year, our cold planer BM 2000/65 won first prize in the category ‘Gamme Lourde’, construction machinery beginning from 12 tonnes and 80 HP. Sophie Benfredj, director of BOMAG France, accepted the award at the DLR conference.

Founded in 1965, the DLR is an association of French construction companies with synergies between sales, rental, maintenance, and service in the construction machinery sector. In conjunction with the magazine ‘Chantiers de France’, the DLR awards the ‘Grand Prix Matériels’ every year in the categories ‘Light Equipment’, ‘Heavy Range’, Light Construction Machinery and Tools’, ‘Service’, ‘Person of the Year’ and ‘Jury´s Favorite’. The committee honors outstanding innovations and remarkable individual accomplishments within the construction industry.

At this year´s DLR congress, the BOMAG cold planer BM 2000/65 won first prize in the category Heavy Range, French: Gamme Lourde. The lightest cold planer in the 2-metre class scored especially with its perfect all-round visibility, the intuitive operation concept, the low fuel consumption, and extended service life due to the patented BOMAG cutting technology.

Sophie Benfredj, director of BOMAG France, accepted the award at the DLR congress. In an interview with Chantier de France she stated the advantages of the prize-winning cold planer: “While planning the BM 2000/65, we focused on the requirements of our customers. The result is a very versatile cold planer, with only 27 tonnes the lightest planer in the 2-metre class.

The perfect all-round visibility reduces the risk of accidents on the jobsite. Moreover, the BOMAG ION DUST SHIELD decreases emissions significantly and protects machine operator and environment as it binds up to 93 % of the fine dust from the cutting process. Tests from the French National Research and Safety Institute INRS confirm these numbers. Aside from the ION DUST SHIELD the cold planer scores with its innovative cutting technology, which reduces fuel consumption about 20 %.
