Pneumatic tyred rollers
The BW 18 RH demonstrates its strengths wherever impressive performance is expected and required.
The 55.4 kW engine is fuel-efficient and low in emissions and requires no exhaust aftertreatment—another factor that makes it particularly economical.
Thanks to the generously sized m3 ballast compartment, the BW 18 RH can be flexibly ballasted. The maximum operating weight of the pneumatic tyred roller is 18,000 kg.
Ballasting can be carried out using water, steel shot, sand or quick-change plates. This flexible ballasting concept meets all customer requirements.






Asphalt compaction – to increase load-bearing capacity and wear resistance.
Surface dressing; highway and airfield construction and maintenance; special surfacing materials; proof rolling; lime and cement-stabilised soils. The compaction and kneading effect of the pneumatic tyres results in excellent surface sealing.

BOMAG ECOMODE, a triple oscillating front axle and the load limit control of the travel control system combine efficiency and productivity.

Thanks to extensive diagnostic options, service points easily accessible from the ground and simple tank filling, maintenance work is completed in no time at all.
The three-way pivoting front axle ensures even weight distribution across all tyres. Optimum visibility of the outer tyre edges allows compaction closer to the track edge.

The 55 kW in-line engine from DEUTZ delivers impressive torque characteristics combined with extremely low fuel consumption and emission levels. It provides ample performance even in demanding site conditions.
In operation, the engine is particularly efficient and low maintenance. No urea additive is required.
The BOMAG pneumatic tyred roller offers numerous individual ballasting options, ensuring it meets all customer requirements:
• Large ballast compartment
• Quick-change steel/concrete plates
• Optional water ballast
The interchangeable concrete or steel plates do not reduce the volume of the ballast compartment. It remains empty and can also be filled with water, for example, for temporary ballasting.

To achieve optimum compaction performance, tyre pressure must be adjusted according to the current wheel load.
On the BOMAG BW 18 RH, tyre pressure for all eight tyres can be set easily and conveniently from the operator’s seat (between 2.0 and 8.0 bar/29-116 psi).
The modern frame design provides excellent all-round visibility as well as the best view of the wheel surfaces and the outer tyre edges.
