Boppard, 03. March 2026: With the new BMS 15 EVO, BOMAG presents the next stage in the evolution of its exchange holder system for asphalt planers. Building on the long-proven BMS 15 L, which has been successfully used in a wide range of road planers worldwide for many years, the system has been further refined and adapted to meet the growing demands of modern milling technology. Existing milling drums are compatible with the new exchange holder system.
The proven core strengths of the BMS 15 L—including rear tool removal, the low tightening torque of 100 Nm, the robust tapered fit and minimal maintenance requirements—have been retained and specifically enhanced.
With 35% more material, the new BMS 15 EVO delivers up to 50% longer service life. As with the previous model, the BMS 15 EVO can also achieve fuel savings of up to 20% compared to other systems.

These enhancements improve the performance of BOMAG’s cutting technology in demanding milling applications. Each geometric detail and exchange holder system is precisely designed to convert engine output into milling energy, increase productivity and reduce operating costs over the long term. The well-thought-out exchange holder system ensures optimal power transmission and a particularly long service life.
The revised system also continues to offer significant advantages: thanks to the low tightening torque of just 100 Nm, toolholders can be replaced using a cordless or pneumatic screwdriver—taking around half the time required by conventional systems.
In addition, BOMAG toolholders can be refurbished directly on site without damaging the positioning feet. They help to restore the holders to their original factory alignment. After repair, optimal pick rotation is ensured, reducing pick consumption over the long term.
