BOMAG to highlight zero HAV at EHS 2019

BOMAG will return to the Executive Hire Show in a new position in the Ricoh Arena’s main hall on stand I42. BOMAG’s 2019 stand will be themed Safety, Security, Service and Solutions.

Safety

Hand & Arm Vibration (HAV) is widely recognised as a serious threat to health. HAV is preventable, but once the damage is done it is permanent. HAV is serious and disabling, and nearly 2 million people are at risk. Damage from HAV can include the inability to do fine work and cold can trigger painful finger blanching attacks. The construction industry is full of risk with many hand operated machines, including pneumatic and hydraulic breakers and compaction equipment, producing high HAV. What can be better than zero HAV? BOMAG will exhibit two versatile bits of kit which are remotely operated that can tackle most small-scale compaction jobs with ease. The BPH 80/65S reversible hydraulic plate and the BMP 8500 multi-purpose compactor are remotely controlled and so the operator is not exposed to any HAV. Both machines have safety systems built into the remote-control operator which safeguards the operator. These are powerful versatile machines. The BPH 80/65S produces 80kN of force at a frequency of 55 Hz whilst the BMP 8500 produces up to 72 kN of force at 42 Hz. The third machine on display will be the low HAV (2.5m/sec2) BVP 10/30 single direction vibrating plate.

Security

BOMAG announced in July that it had stepped-up its security marking on its ever-popular range of light and heavy asphalt tandem and single drum soil rollers in response to consistently high rates of theft. Over 100 BOMAG rollers were stolen in the UK in 2017. The Official CESAR Scheme, owned by the CEA, acts as a powerful theft deterrent and an invaluable aid in recovery. CESAR can be fitted as an option to other light equipment.

Service App

BOMAG’s Service App is a practical mobile solution for use on a smartphone or tablet computer.  It’s available free of charge from Google Play and the App Store for Android and Apple devices. The BOMAG Service App provides users with help on the go, putting valuable information at their fingertips, 24/7, saving time and money. The convenient App enables users to search for a spare part, monitor their machine fleet, find a used machine or the local BOMAG service partner and get support for the maintenance of their machine. By scanning the QR code on the serial number plate, or by entering the serial number, users can quickly access spare parts lists, technical data, operating and maintenance instructions and videos. The App also provides users with ‘transparent maintenance documentation’. In the electronic service booklet users can document all the service work performed on a machine which always provides a complete record. The electronic service booklet can also be kept up-to date via the BOMAG service portal servicelog.bomag.com
