Boppard, September 2026: From 1 September 2026, Marc Kuntz will assume global responsibility for sales and marketing at BOMAG as Executive Vice President & Chief Sales Officer (CSO). He succeeds Michael Grünewald, who is bringing his active career to a close after 37 years of successful service to the company. With this change in leadership, BOMAG sets the course for further international growth.
Marc Kuntz takes up the role of CSO on 1 September 2026. He brings over 20 years of international leadership experience in commercial and special-purpose vehicle manufacturing. Most recently, at Magirus GmbH, he was responsible for the strategic transformation of sales structures, tapping into new markets and launching new products. Before this, he spent 18 years in various management positions at Daimler Truck AG in Germany, India and Japan.
‘In Marc Kuntz, we are gaining an experienced sales executive. His extensive international experience and deep understanding of customer needs provide an excellent basis for further strengthening our global sales and marketing organisation, opening up new growth opportunities and consistently enhancing BOMAG's customer focus. We look forward to working with him and wish him every success,’ says Dr Ingo Ettischer, President of the BOMAG Group.
‘I am delighted to take on this new role and appreciate the trust that comes with this responsibility,' Marc Kuntz adds. At the same time, I step into Mr Grünewald's shoes with great respect: building on the foundation he has established, I want to continue writing the company's success story together with our customers, teams and partners.’
Michael Grünewald joined BOMAG in 1989 as a trainee in production before moving into global spare parts sales in 1993. From 2003, he held a series of positions in global sales. In 2010, he joined the company's management team. Moving to the Service and Solutions division in 2020, he took up the role of Managing Director. Since 2024, he has held global responsibility for sales and marketing.
‘Michael Grünewald has played a defining role in shaping BOMAG's development over many years. What sets him apart is not only his extensive expertise, experience and entrepreneurial vision, but also the trusting relationships he has built with colleagues, dealers and business partners worldwide. Under his leadership, important groundwork was laid for the successful global expansion and continued success of the spare parts business, as well as for strengthening our international sales and service structures. In economically challenging times in particular, the trust-based and solution-focused collaboration with him was a key factor in the company's development. We extend our sincere thanks for his many years of dedication and commitment, as well as for his close ties to BOMAG, and express our great appreciation for his contribution,’ says Dr Ettischer.
