Boppard, 20.04.2017: Bomag turned 60 this year and celebrated this anniversary with a festival for its employees and their families. On June 24, Bomag hosted around 2,800 guests on the headquarter’s Hellerwald premises in Boppard with a diverse programme.
„Today, we are celebrating 60 years of Bomag, but also 60 years of our Group which is a symbol of how well our two cultures have been complementing each other for more than 12 years now. I am very proud that Bomag is part of our Group and just as proud to feel that I am a member of the extended Bomag family “, said Jean-Claude Fayat, owner and President of the Fayat Group, during his official speech. “I am convinced that in 60 years, Fayat and Bomag will still continue to grow together. The close connection between our two companies, the high level of commitment and especially the employees’ combined expertise are a base for the future success of Bomag and Fayat.”
Ralf Junker, long-time member of the management and President of Bomag since May of this year, also congratulated the employees for the achievements that the company owes to their efforts. „Bomag has developed into one of the world’s leading companies in asphalt and soil compaction in the course of the past 60 years. During this journey, we have celebrated many achievements, but also mastered many challenges. The backbone of our success are, and have always been, our employees. Today I would also like to express my gratitude to the relatives and families of our employees for their support with which they facilitate the passion and great performances of our employees”, emphasised Ralf Junker. „Last but not least I would like to thank Mr. Fayat. The acquisition in 2005 and the commitment to further investments in BOMAG provide us with a lot of stability and let us anticipate a great future. In the Fayat Group we have a reliable partner with a clear philosophy and a strong bond with Bomag. “
One investment into a successful future is the new machine demonstration and training centre that was opened by Mr. Fayat and Mr. Junker in a small ceremony during the family festival. Following the internal launch, a variety of machines were demonstrated on the new covered space, which spans 3.000 m² and which will be host to future product presentations to a large audience as well as practical trainings. The theoretical training will be held in the adjacent training facility which includes five new training rooms.
Apart from the opening of the machine demonstration site, Bomag offered its guests a diverse programme for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary with music, lotteries, guided tours of the premises, and machine demonstrations. Attractions for the roughly 600 children of the employees included face painting, a goal-shooting contest and a giant slide. A special highlight was a bouncy castle in the shape of a Bomag asphalt paver.
