BOMAG vibratory roller: For use in research and teaching at the TU Dresden

Boppard construction equipment manufacturer BOMAG hands over a BW 138 AD-5 tandem vibratory roller to the Chair of Construction Equipment and Conveying Technology at the TU Dresden for use in research and teaching.

Professor Günter Kunze, Chair of professors for Construction Equipment and Conveying Technology, has thanked Robert Laux, BOMAG's Head of Technology and Development on behalf of the TU Dresden for the quick and easy handover of the machine.
The Chair of Construction Equipment and Conveying Technology at the TU Dresden teaches and researches in the fields of drive technology, process mechanics and the interactive simulation of mobile machinery.
In addition to theoretical methods of product development, which are increasingly used to achieve integrated simulation technology, tests under practical conditions continue to play a significant role.
These are crucial to verifying models set up for simulation.
For teaching, students on the practical course learn to use experimentation and measurement as another method within product development.
A convenient test hall and testing grounds are available to the Chair for these activities.
In combination with mobile excavators and wheel loaders, the articulated BOMAG tandem vibratory roller completes the technological line in earthworks with the compaction process.
In the near future, the unit will be equipped with diverse measuring technologies and integrated immediately into research tasks and student education.
A guarantee has been given that the vibratory roller will only be used for the agreed purpose.
BOMAG will make available all findings which derive from the tests.
