Boppard, 17.09.2024: BOMAG launches a new generation of soil stabilizers and recyclers: both models, the RS 600-2 (Tier 3) and RS 650-2 (Tier 4/Stage 5), excel with their above-average daily output, outstanding reliability and a thoroughly thought-out ergonomic design of the working environment. They are particularly flexible in use and can be deployed for cold recycling as well as base stabilisation and subsoil improvement projects. International customers were able to experience the RS 650-2 live in action for the first time at the 2024 BOMAG Innovation Days.
The RS 600-2 and RS 650-2 differ only in the engine variant used, with the RS 600-2 meeting Tier 3 emissions standards and the RS 650-2 meeting Tier 4/Stage 5. Both exhaust classifications are achieved using a Deutz 8 cylinder with different exhaust gas aftertreatment systems. This particularly powerful engine enables the RS 600-2 or RS 650-2 to push a bitumen emulsion tanker of approx. 40 tons during the mixing process while simultaneously towing a water tanker of some 30 tons. This enables even the most challenging projects to be completed in the shortest possible time.
The machines can operate both forwards and backwards, providing maximum on-site flexibility. A state-of-the-art camera system supports this, offering the operator a 360° view of the working environment. Two additional cameras can optionally be installed to give an even better view of the area in front of the rotor and the current mixing result.
BOMAG's large soil stabilizers are easy, quick and safe to manoeuvre on the site in any situation thanks to four different steering modes (rear-axle, articulated, synchronous and crab mode); a feature that further enhances productivity and operational flexibility.
The RS 600-2 and RS 650-2 are available with two rotor variants: in addition to the standard width of 2,400 mm, a rotor with a width of 2,600 mm is optionally available to further increase surface coverage.

The RS 600-2 and RS 650-2 perform dependably even under extreme conditions. They are designed for use in all climate zones from -15° to +50° C. The smart cooling system ensures the machines are cooled as needed, which not only extends service life but also significantly reduces fuel consumption compared to conventional technologies.
The new machines' hydraulic travel system guarantees high torque, regardless of working or engine speed. What's more, the rotor drive is infinitely adjustable from 104–140 rpm, making it ideal for milling and mixing even in the toughest conditions. Thanks to the 4 x 4 drive, the anti-slip control (ASC) and the non-spin rear axle, the machines are always ready for operation on any terrain, offering maximum forward drive.
BOMAG stabilizers and recyclers have been used successfully on countless construction sites worldwide for over four decades. These many years of experience are also reflected in the increasingly ergonomic design of the operator's work environment. The cabin is equipped with an air-sprung, individually adjustable ergonomic seat, ensuring fatigue-free and stress-free working. The soundproof cab keeps noise levels to a minimum, further improving working conditions.
Operating the new machines is particularly simple and intuitive. All key functions, such as adjusting the three rotor gates and the milling depth, can be modified without taking your hand off the control lever. The integrated display provides a comprehensive overview of all machine functions and enables easy control of the injection systems for a variety of materials.
At the same time, the FLEXMIX technology ensures optimum mixing results, both in forward and reverse travel. The required mixing pattern can be achieved with the additional mixing and crushing gate in the rotor hood. This guarantees the highest quality in material processing while also optimising costs.
Maintaining the new soil stabilizers and recyclers is particularly easy thanks to the central lubrication system, reversible fan and compressed air system. These components help to extend maintenance intervals and maximise machine availability. In addition, the cabin can be lowered, enabling the machine to be transported on any standard low loader at a height of just three metres.
With the RS 600-2 and RS 650-2 models, BOMAG presents a new machine generation that sets new standards in terms of efficiency and user-friendliness.
