Professional solutions for compaction technology and asphalt construction.

Boppard, 21.11.2024: Construction machinery manufacturer BOMAG welcomed guests from over 80 countries to this year's Innovation Days. Over three event days from 16 to 20 September, some 1,400 customers, dealers, industry experts and media representatives gathered at the company's headquarters in Boppard to learn about its latest developments. United under the motto "Celebrating Partnership", BOMAG offered a platform for in-depth exchanges between experts, a programme of specialist presentations, a factory tour and live demonstrations of machines and technology. New products were also unveiled. They included BOMAG's Emergency Brake Assist for pivot-steered asphalt rollers – a groundbreaking innovation in construction machinery designed to further enhance safety on construction sites.
"We're delighted to give our customers and partners an insight into the latest developments at BOMAG as part of the Innovation Days. From strategic corporate developments and new machines and technologies to a behind-the-scenes look at our production facilities, we aim to demonstrate that we're not only delivering innovative machine and technology solutions and continuing to grow but also committed to being a reliable partner for the future – across all global markets. And nurturing partnerships has always been high on our agenda – it's rooted in BOMAG's philosophy. An event like this gives us the opportunity to engage even more closely with our customers and better understand their expectations," says Dr Ingo Ettischer, President and CEO of the BOMAG Group.

The event kicked off with presentations focusing on the company's strategic direction and digital technologies for sustainable road construction. A strong 2024 business year and the drive for international growth – including expanding global production and dealer networks – alongside the strategic use of synergies within parent company FAYAT offer a promising outlook for the company's stable future.
The two-and-a-half-hour factory tour provided fascinating insights into the production facilities. Visitors experienced BOMAG's vertical integration and commitment to high quality firsthand at each stage of the production and assembly lines. BOMAG is the only manufacturer in the single drum roller sector to offer three exciter systems and four drum types, providing machines for every soil compaction requirement. It was clear that BOMAG continues to invest in the site's infrastructure, innovative manufacturing technology, and product development.
In the subsequent live machine demonstrations, BOMAG presented the entire road construction cycle under real-life construction site conditions, from milling and stabilising to asphalt paving and compaction.
Some 50 machines and technologies were put through their paces by BOMAG application experts. Typical site condition scenarios, innovative new products, discussions with industry specialists about trends and developments in the sector and action-packed stunts made for an exciting programme. The programme was rounded off with products from the FAYAT Group's sister brands Secmair and Dulevo, thus completing the road life cycle.
BOMAG also presented machines and solutions for the industry’s key topics: electrification, digitisation and assistance systems. Using battery-electric machines from their e-PERFORMANCE portfolio, such as the BW 100 AD e-5 light tandem roller, customers can also work in urban areas with strict environmental regulations. The company's digital answer to the need for networked construction sites and more sustainable quality and cost efficiency in road construction is ASPHALT PRO. This cloud-based solution enables construction companies to plan, optimise and digitally document the entire paving process in real time.
As a technology leader, construction machinery manufacturer BOMAG has previously introduced pioneering automation technology studies such as the BW 154 ROBOMAG asphalt roller and the BW 177 ROBOMAG single drum roller. BOMAG presented one of the technologies from the ROBOMAG concept during the event: EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSIST prevents collisions during operation, thereby improving on-site safety. It continuously scans the machine's surroundings, allowing it to recognise potential hazards early and automatically initiate an appropriate driving response. Following the successful completion of all certifications, this new safety technology for pivot-steered BOMAG tandem rollers is now available to customers worldwide in full and without restrictions.
The construction equipment manufacturer also presented the latest RS 650-2 recycler/stabilizer for the first time. The machine is particularly versatile and can be used for both cold recycling and base stabilisation and subsoil improvement measures. The earthworks sector also featured an exclusive premiere: the BW 177 BVO-5 PL single drum roller. With three compaction modes – oscillation, low and high amplitude – the machine is perfectly suited to a range of different construction site requirements.
