Overview

The BOMAG BC 773 EB-5 soil compactor enables the best possible use of landfill space.

It is also ideal for efficient and economical compaction on large construction sites. With a BOMAG BC 773 EB-5 soil compactor, you can make the most of the available landfill volume. Compared to a caterpillar, capacity increases of up to 10% are possible.

A soil compactor can significantly reduce the volume of air in the landfill body and achieve a much higher level of compaction. It pays to use a soil compactor: Every ton of additional material stored means hard cash for the operating company.

Compaction is generated statically (without vibration) by ground pressure and the tooth tips of the wheels. The length and shape of the teeth are decisive here. A BOMAG soil compactor achieves very high peak pressures.

In addition, there is a crushing effect. The material is homogenised, and layers are coarsely mixed. The offset between the front and rear wheels ensures rapid, full-surface compaction.

This increases the stability of the landfill. Delivery vehicles no longer sink in and have no traction problems on the firmer ground. A factor that ensures safer and more efficient processes at the landfill or in earthworks, particularly on large construction sites.

Delivery vehicles no longer sink in and, like the soil compactor itself, have no traction problems.

When backfilling clay pits, for example, soil compactors can be used without any problems. With a choice of different compaction wheels and dozer blades, a BOMAG soil compactor can be adapted to the special requirements of the construction site.

Whether working in rain, on mixed or cohesive soils, and thin or medium layers: BOMAG's ingenious scraper system guarantees clean tools, constant compaction and maximum traction.

The rear side windows have electric heating for good visibility during blind spot checks and to prevent the windows from misting up. The soil compactor's mirrors are also heated and electrically adjustable.

The optimal dozer blade height can be precisely adjusted. The Blade Stepper function allows the dozer blade to be raised in a predefined way and also returns the blade to its original position.

Frequently used dozer blade positions, such as the push position, can be easily saved and accessed again.

In addition, a complete workflow can be generated from the input parameters of blade height and speeds. Recurring cycles can be saved and automated.

ECOMODE and ECOSTOP.

Compared to a machine of the same weight, fuel savings of up to 10% can be achieved. The engine always runs in the optimal speed range (ECOMODE). All that is required here is to preselect the travel speed. The machine then maintains this speed even under a wide range of loads.

After a defined idling time, the engine switches off automatically (ECOSTOP).

Easy servicing.

Machine data such as rpm and hydraulic pressure can also be called up at the push of a button for quick fault analysis. When servicing is required, the technician knows in advance what to expect and usually already has the required spare part at hand.

Air to breathe.

The cab is fitted as standard with an automatic heating and climate control system. A modern air supply system creates a slight overpressure in the cab. This keeps dust out.

As an option, a protective ventilation system can be fitted ex works. The soil compactor can then also be used on contaminated materials and substances hazardous to health.

The most important machine parameters: Dozer blade position and speed are continuously shown on a large display. The temperature is only displayed if it becomes critical.

It is also possible to view information on the gradient and camber, current fuel consumption and the remaining working time or range.

Different working speeds can be preset with the cruise control to suit the respective material and for forward and reverse travel.

The speed can also be adjusted via the function keys on the joystick – everything is very simple.

All important machine components are well protected, thanks to the fully enclosed frame pan – a factor that significantly reduces maintenance work. The hydraulic components can be accessed directly from below through a large service door.

The engine hood can be opened electrohydraulically. All service points for the daily check can be accessed from the left platform. The check can be easily performed on the way to the workplace.

Cooling on demand.

Charge air, hydraulic oil and coolant are only cooled as much as is necessary. Compared to a machine where the fan output is directly coupled to the engine speed, the potential fuel saving is about 5%.

The air intake is located at the highest point of the machine. This is where the dust content is lowest. In addition, the air flow can be reversed: this makes it very easy to clean the radiator and the protective grille.

All-round compaction and traction.

The inclination angles of the oscillating articulated joint reach absolute peak values of plus/minus 15 degrees. Every wheel is always in contact with the ground. The control system can supply each wheel with the required amount of oil by means of a steering angle sensor.

The result: no displacement, no slipping, maximum traction and compaction – at all points. Previous compaction work also remains intact when the machine passes over it again.

A bottle holder and radio are fitted as standard, as is an automatic heating and climate control system. A winter package with auxiliary heater is available as an option.
