The UK’s major equipment exhibition of the year, The Hillhead Show, attracted a record attendance of just under 20,000 unique visitors, including international visitors from 88 countries. 527 exhibitors took part in the 3-day show, more than ever before, with the BOMAG stand, on the quarry floor, being one of the busiest. The BOMAG stand featured a 10m x10m structure on an elevated stone platform with a catering tent to one side.
An array of milling, paving and compaction equipment attracted BOMAG customers and new prospects alike. The BBQ and decked area gave customers the chance to relax in the heat with a cold drink and some excellent food.
The large 36m x 24m stand allowed a wide range of equipment to be displayed including the new generation, compact BW 124 DH-5 single drum roller.
A BOMAG BW 174AP ASPHALT MANAGER, in major contractor Eurovia’s colours, made a splash on the stand. Soon to go to work in the northern home counties this machine features full Continuous Compaction Control (CCC) with display, control and documentation systems built-in.
For contractors working on asphalt BOMAG has improved its market leading products. Hillhead was the first public showing for the recently announced improvements to the BW 135 and 138 AD-5 rollers. A BW 135 AD-5 was exhibited with the latest selectable dual amplitude vibration mode. A new low amplitude, of 0.2mm, has been added to the existing 0.5mm amplitude allowing the operator to easily select the most appropriate mode for the job at hand. compaction and minimises the risk of crushed aggregates making it ideal for thin layers, seams or joints and for maintenance and repair work in the urban environment.
