BOMAG builds a new training centre

Construction started at the end of June on a new demonstration and training site directly opposite BOMAG’s head office in Boppard. The new site is due to be inaugurated in autumn 2017. Once complete BOMAG and the Fayat Group companies will be able to showcase all their construction machines throughout the year on a covered site over 3,000 square metres in size – for driver training for customers and dealers and for training service technicians.

Boppard, 31.08.2016: A new demonstration and training centre is under construction on the right-hand side of Römerstraße in the Hellerwald industrial estate directly opposite BOMAG’s head office. Once complete the company will triple its training capacity. Service technicians from dealers or customers and also the company's in-house service technicians will all benefit from this new facility. IIn small groups they will be better able to learn new information about machines, consolidate their own knowledge and train directly on the machine with targeted applications.

“The new training centre will enhance BOMAG’s head office on the Boppard site and the investment consolidates the outstanding service orientation of BOMAG. We are creating an excellent learning environment where the focus is on the practical teaching of know-how” explains Jörg Unger, President of BOMAG.

This was further emphasised by Jonathan Stringham, Head of Marketing at BOMAG: “With this new, spacious training centre we are continuing our strategy of offering sustainable added value to users of our machines through better services and training programmes.”

The overall project is divided into several sections. The excavation work is currently being completed, and the earthworks are nearly finished. In this first construction stage the training and demonstration site will be completed by the end of this year. “This means that at the next training season in January participants can look forward to optimised training courses in real-life site conditions” continues Stringham.

Driver training on the site

Driver training courses on the new site will be able to simulate real-life site scenarios. Participants will be shown tips and tricks, for example, how to achieve and document optimum compaction in a short space of time. They will also be shown how to also maximise the full potential of the machines in difficult situations. Dealers on the other hand can expand their knowledge by learning about the benefits of the machines and technologies on actual equipment.
