BOMAG at the bauma 2016: Outdoor stand FS. 1009
BOMAG light tandem rollers with Tier 4 final and diesel particulate filter

BOMAG has extended its range of machines meeting the Tier 4 emissions standard to include light tandem rollers. A model with the new engine can be seen at the bauma 2016. Customers benefit from a future-proof investment and enhanced fields of application, as the rollers can also be used in cities with fine particulate restrictions. The environmental impact of construction machinery is increasingly becoming a competitive factor. Requirements for e.g. particulate emissions already place high requirement on the motors used. It is foreseeable that the legal regulations will be further tightened worldwide.

Boppard, 11.04.2016: BOMAG sets new standards in sustainability: Light articulated tandem rollers are immediately available worldwide with Tier 4 final Kubota engines and diesel particulate filters. This includes models in the weight classes 1.8 t to 3.0 t (engine power 24.6 kW) and 3.0 to 5.0 t (engine power 33.6 kW). These innovative engines have already proven themselves in other machines at BOMAG. They are characterised by their strong performance, high efficiency and environmentally friendly emission values. Users benefit from an environmentally mature complete solution and eliminate the need for the technically complex and costly retrofitting of a diesel particulate filter.

Clean engines secure investments

Anyone investing today in BOMAG lightweight tandem rollers with modern motor technology, is optimally equipped for tomorrow. From 2019, all construction machines up to 56 kW in Europe must meet the Stage 5 emissions standard. In the US, Tier 4 final is already required in this class. But there is also increased interest in machines with Tier 4 final engines in South Korea and the German market already.

The advantages of the diesel particulate filter are already apparent today. Their use in Switzerland, for example, is obligatory. Cities such as Stuttgart and Tübingen already have fine particulate restrictions that regulate the use of heavy equipment. Other cities are bound to follow. For construction machine operators, this means: Only those who invest in modern engines that meet the strictest emissions standards today is on the safe side of future developments - and that applies throughout the world.

BOMAG shows new tandem rollers at the bauma

At the bauma 2016, BOMAG is presenting one of the new motorized light tandem rollers at their stand (FS. 1009). The model on display is the BW 120 AC-5 with a 24.6 kW Kubota engine Tier 4 final, respectively Stage 3. Also shown is a cross section of other small tandem rollers that meet the requirements of various global markets.
