IHK has awarded BOMAG first prize in the "Healthy Companies" competition

On 7 May, the Koblenz 'Chamber of Industry and Commerce' (IHK) announced the winner of the "Healthy Companies" competition. Out of 30 contestants, BOMAG so impressed the jury of eleven as to receive the first prize in the category "Companies with more than 250 employees".

Boppard, 20/05/2015: The prize was awarded by the "Healthy Companies" IHK-HwK Advisory Committee. This committee includes the Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Koblenz Chamber of Crafts (HwK), 'Initiative Mittelrhein' and corporate representatives. BOMAG took part in the competition in which prizes were awarded for practical solutions that promote the health and well-being of staff on a daily basis. The jury of eleven from the healthcare, medicine, science and social insurance sectors paid particular attention to campaigns within the company in terms of how sustainably, systematically and integrally these are carried out. BOMAG excelled in all areas.

The global market leader in compaction technology based in Boppard offers all of its employees a wide range of health promoting activities for a balanced life. In addition to the BOMAG sport club with 420 members, the company supports flexible routine working hours with various time accounts available to allow for a satisfying work-life-balance and better coordination of family and work.

In addition , employees have the opportunity of suggesting specific improvements to healthcare management. A non-hierarchical working group representing different departments then drafts an action plan and puts it into action in the form of various workshops.

During the award ceremony, Kurt Krautscheid, President of the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts (HwK), said that the issue of health promotion requires continuity. This is why contestants such as BOMAG are pioneers.
